PUT SOME FRENCH CHIC IN YOUR PARTY

Apéritif à la française is the French Cocktail Hour.

The French hold the most stylish parties, and now you can too. The apéritif (ah-pair-ee-teef) was originally conceived to "whet the appetite" (before dinner or lunch) and today it's an event in itself! Apéritif is a real tradition for French people and is part of the famous French Gourmet meal, which in 2010 was added to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list!

Shortened in French to apéro, these get-togethers are an integral part of French social life. They are a way for friends and family to enjoy a variety of fun, small dishes, cocktails, or a glass of wine.

Eight years ago, the French Ministry of Agriculture launched the French Cocktail Hour to celebrate the apéritif all over the world. It is now a worldwide happening organized in more than 20 countries and celebrated the first Thursday of June.
