Le Coutances

Originating from the heartland of the Normandy coast in France, Le Coutance gathers all the different flavors found in the lush pastures of Normandy where the cows are able to graze in pastures 9 months of the year, next to the Atlantic Ocean. Named after the beautiful town of Coutances, this authentic, traditional soft ripened cheese is creamy with a milky aftertaste: a true cheese-lovers delight.

PROFILE

Le Coutances Le Coutances is a rustic soft-ripened cheese with a rich, creamy paste and milky taste that develops nicely with age. It has a unique subtle flavor with its soft and yellow interior and a soft, bloomy white rind.

USAGE

Le Coutances is a fantastic stand-alone cheese. Try it on a chunk of crusty French baguette or accompanied by a fresh lettuce or baby greens. It also goes very well with charcuteries and pickles. Because Le Coutances has a rich flavor, it pairs well with Bordeaux, Bourgogne or Pays de la Loire red wines. The fruitiness of the wine really compliments the cheese. It also pairs very well with French Apple Cider.

Happy to see this cheese at Costco: it is absolutely delicious, ages beautifully, and looks ever so pretty on a cheese-board. One couldn't ask much more of a cheese at all!
